Lesson 0 - Overview and Introduction

Robotics car with Arduino for beginners is course which can be equal to a 2 credit hour (1 Lecture hour, 2 lab hours) course that introduces the student to applied mathematical concepts, robot construction, C programming, with an emphasis on the importance of team work and communication skills.

Objectives

1.    Strengthen math skills with focus on procedural fluency and application

2.    Strengthen science skills

3.    Learn basics of C programming

4.    Learn and apply the engineering process

Expectations

1.    Participate in class by doing example problems and answering questions.

2.    Complete all lab assignments, tests/quizzes, and any other activities that will help strengthen skills.

Lesson worksheets and other activities

Each student is expected to complete all lab assignments. However, the work has to be done as equally as possible. There should be input from all students when completing the labs. Take turns programming using Arduino IDE (Sketch) which is based on C programming Language.

Engineering Journals (demonstrated work)

Engineering journals are used to make drawings of the robot every time a new component, such as light sensor, is discussed. The drawing should also have a description of how the component works and how it enhances the capabilities of the robot. Students are required to write all pseudocode and flowcharts in this notebook.
